EFFEBI at the 28 th EDITION OF EURONAVAL, THE WORLD NAVAL DEFENSE EXHIBITION
Effebi, the Italian boat builder specializing in the military and merchant sectors, leading supplier of public entities in Italy and Europe thanks to more than 30 years' experience in the construction of vessels in composite material up to 50 metres in length, is taking part in Euronaval 2022 (Paris Le Bourget, 18-21 October) – Hall2A – stand L113.
“Euronaval is an unmissable event for us, and participating in this 28 th edition is a great opportunity to present our latest projects and the partnerships we have strengthened over the last two years, which, as is widely known, have been very challenging, particularly in an equally challenging sector like the military one", comments Effebi SPA's Managing Director Katia Balducci.
Effebi confirms to be a reference operator for institutional clients like Guardia di Finanza (the Italian Financial Police), with whom, over the last couple of years, the boat builder has confirmed a contract for consultancy services and the supply of products capable of meeting the police force's wide range of needs, through a diversified order portfolio having a special focus on environmental friendliness, functionality, maximum comfort in working areas, and, it goes without saying, safety. Recently, Effebi also secured a contract for the refitting of 20 hybrid patrol boats.
44-metre Fast Patrol Boat "Tenente Petrucci", unit no. 1 built for Guardia di Finanza, was launched on 26 th January 2021 and then delivered in June 2021. The patrol boat was built after Effebi won the call for tenders co-funded by the EU as part of the Internal Security Fund (FRONTEX) and launched by Guardia di Finanza back in 2019, an achievement that confirmed that Effebi's decision to invest in innovation and security was a winning one.
Just over a year later, at Bari naval station, in the presence of the highest representatives of Guardia di Finanza, Effebi delivered the first interceptor built following the related tender launched in 2021.
This 16.5 m craft, an unprecedented model in the Italian Financial Police's fleet, can reach a speed of 68 knots while ensuring flawless stability. The Italian police force had expressed the need for a boat that would allow to carry out police operations in particularly choppy sea conditions and effectively combat illegal trafficking perpetrated by super-fast boats, as well as strengthen Guardia di Finanza's role as the only police force operating at sea.
