SANCAR SİDA (ARMED UNMANNED NAVAL VEHICLE) WAS LAUNCHED
The launching ceremony of Sancar SİDA, the Armed Unmanned Naval Vehicle designed and developed with cooperation of Yonca-Onuk Shipyard and HAVELSAN at YONCA ONUK shipyard, was held on June 2, 2022 with the participation of Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR, President of the Presidency of Defense Industry and Dr. Mehmet Akif NACAR, President and CEO of HAVELSAN.
During the ceremony, the SANCAR SİDA platform and HAVELSAN Ground Control Station (GCS) were exhibited.
SİDA (Armed Unmanned Naval Vehicle) will be the first autonomous unmanned naval vehicle integrated with the ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS). HAVELSAN aims to become one of the world's leading countries in this field by demonstrating the experience and success it has gained in armed unmanned aerial vehicles in naval vehicles as well.
It will perform remote control, autonomous navigation and autonomous missions through the Ground Control Station (GCS).
SANCAR SİDA will perform the following tasks and functions:
- Harbor/Base Protection, Search and Rescue, Intelligence, Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Patrol, Surface Warfare, Mine Countermeasures (MCM) missions,
- Remote control, autonomous navigation, COLREG-compliant collision avoidance, autonomous return to base and autonomous mission execution,
- Emergency scenarios.
HAVELSAN Solutions developed for SANCAR SİDA:
- HAVELSAN is developing Command and Control integration software, Platform Specific Image Processing, Platform Control, Platform Autonomy, Mission Planning and Post-Mission Evaluation and Analysis software for SANCAR SİDA.
- Ground Control Station hardware consisting of easily portable units have been produced. The Ground Control Station consists of platform control and monitoring units, ADVENT CMS unit, power distribution/battery unit, communication unit and antennas.
- HAVELSAN's new design Mini-GVDS (Ship Data Distribution System) and, HAVELSAN GNSS System with Anti-Jam feature will take place on the platform.
- A redundant and indigenous communication system solution with "bonding" feature with the tactical router unit over RF LOS and satellite (KuBand & L-Band) using domestic products has been designed and developed.
The project aims to produce an unmanned surface platform ready for mass production.
